Installing the RD4B1 Backbone is a breeze. The black trim on the roof is removed, exposing threads in the roof. The backbone then connects to the threads in the roof with bolts and hardware provided. There’s no need to lower the internal lining to install this backbone; it can all be done from the top of the roof.
In some situations, factory-fitted tracks are installed on Discovery vehicles. In this case, these tracks are removed, and the backbone is installed to the threads in the roof. No lining needs to be removed to install this backbone.
