The sleek and stylish Pioneer Platform with Rhino-Rack Backbone System is the ultimate load carrying solution for your vehicle. The black powder-coated design makes life easier by allowing you to load and unload your equipment in moments. For vehicle with existing factory fitted rails, (Z71 Colorado and DMax) these rails need removing, this is done by loosening bolts from top of vehicle, no need to loosen internal lining. The backbone is then fixed into the existing holes, all bolts and nuts included for install.

Please note it is possible to remove the Factory Rails on the Holden Colorado Z71 to install the Backbone Mounting System.
Loading and unloading your equipment is easy. Simply slide your gear onto the Pioneer Platform and tie them down to the bars. The best thing about the Pioneer Platform is that it has been specifically designed to carry existing Rhino-Rack accessories including luggage bags, jerry can holders, spare wheel holders, shovels and loads more.
Rhino-Rack also offers the flexibility of allowing you to purchase the available rail kits if you wanted to add rails to your platform.

For vehicles without the factory rails, there are threads under the black trim, ready to bolt on the backbone. No need to lower internal lining in vehicle.
For vehicle with existing factory fitted rails, (Z71 Colorado and DMax) these rails need removing, this is done by loosening bolts from top of vehicle, no need to loosen internal lining. The backbone is then fixed into the existing holes, all bolts and nuts included for install.
In some situations the Dmax SX model does not have some threads exposed in the roof under the black trim. This requires drilling thru a thin top skin to locate these threads, please contact our friendly staff for options, by email.
